Los Osos and Baywood Park are “off the beaten path” of other Highway 1 communities; however, they have a great amount to offer. Los Osos is home to the spectacular State Park “Montaña de Oro” (mountain of gold), which offers trails for hiking or mountain biking, beaches, and endless views of the Pacific. Baywood Park is a quaint community that sits at the edge of the “back bay” of Morro Bay and has a great art community with studios and the world’s only known “cow bear”.
The communities are also well known for the Elfin Forest Preserve, outdoor concerts, events, and the incredible Montaña de Oro. Demographics and History can be found here.
